Introducing Leona Isabella
Leona Isabella, is an independent artist based in Tokyo, Japan.
The Japanese-German Vocalist, Singer-Songwriter grew up in Tokyo, Japan.
She began her musical journey at the age of 8, taking classical vocal lessons while also studying the violin and the piano.
When she was 14, she started studying jazz vocal at a cultural center in Tokyo,
where she developed a growing love for the genre with it's improvisational freedom and unique style.
At the age of 16, she joined the Yokohama Bay Hall Open Mic Competition which led to her performance as the opening act of K-Ci & Jojo and Bobby Valentino.
Her first digital single "Floating" was released in 2020 written by her,
produced and arranged by bassist Yoshihito "P" Koizumi. The music video was directed and shot by the Japanese Academy Award Winner Sone Takeshi.
東京生まれ東京育ちのドイツと日本の血を引くボーカリスト、シンガーソングライター。幼少期にピアノとバイオリンを学びつつ、8歳でミュージックスクールにて声楽を学び始める。
14歳の頃、母の勧めでジャズ・ボーカルをカルチャースクールにて学び始めた。
16歳でボーカルコンペティションに参加し、K-Ci&JojoとBobby Valentino のオープニングアクトを務めることになった以来、唄うことを自分の使命と確信し、ジャズ、R&B、ソウルを好む中、彼女の唄の旅が始まった。
その後、父の母国であるドイツへと渡り、大学時代に多数のテレビ番組オーディション(The Voice of Germany, X Factor, Das Supertalent etc.)に参加する中、卒業後、日本へ帰国しボーカリスト、シンガーソングライターとして、東京を拠点に音楽活動を開始。
2020年7月には初のシングル「Floating/浮遊」をデジタルリリース(Written by Leona Isabella; Produced and arranged by 小泉”Ｐ”克人)。その後、日本アカデミー賞受賞の曽根剛監督が手掛けたMV“Floating/浮遊“を公開。
現在、2026年リリース予定のアルバムを製作中。
