Leona Isabella
東京生まれ東京育ちのドイツと日本の血を引くアーティスト。
幼少期にピアノとバイオリンを学びつつ、8歳でミュージックスクールにて声楽を学び始める。
16歳で歌のコンペに参加し、K-Ci&Jojo のオープニングアクトを務めることになった以来、唄うことを自分の使命と確信し、ジャズ、R&B、ソウルを好む中、彼女の唄の旅が始まった。
その後、父の母国であるドイツへと渡り、大学時代に多数のテレビ番組オーディション
(The Voice of Germany, X Factor, Das Supertalent etc.)に参加。
大学卒業後、日本へ帰国し、シンガーソングライター/ジャズボーカリストとして、東京を拠点に音楽活動を開始。
2020年7月にはベーシスト、小泉Ｐ克人プロデュースの初のシングル「Floating/浮遊」をデジタルリリース。
その後日本アカデミー賞受賞の曽根剛監督が手掛けたMV“Floating/浮遊“を公開。
現在初EPを製作中。
Leona Isabella, is an independent artist based in Tokyo, Japan.
The Japanese-German Singer-Songwriter/Jazz Vocalist grew up in Tokyo, Japan.
She began her musical journey at the age of 8, taking classical singing lessons while also studying the violin and the piano.
As a teenager she started writing songs about her own identity crisis and the struggles of living life as a multiracial individual in Japan.
At the age of 16, she joined the Yokohama Bay Hall Open Mic Competition which led to her performance as the opening act of K-Ci&Jojo and Bobby Valentino.
After graduating high school, Leona moved to Germany, Hamburg to attend University, where she auditioned for TV Shows such as the X Factor (Germany), The Voice of Germany, Das Supertalent, Deutschland sucht den Superstar, etc.
Her music and words tell a story of identity freedom and finding truth in the authentic self.
She often addresses the concept of ethnocentricity and homogeneity inside Japan
with the aim to spread awareness on multiracialism inside the country.
Her first digital single "Floating" was released in 2020 produced by Yoshihito P Koizumi.
The music video was directed and shot by the Japanese Academy Award Winner Sone Takeshi.
She is currently working independently on her first EP which is planned to come out some time in 2024.
